With two out of three nursing home residents falling at least once a year, each resident should be considered at risk of falling until they have proven their willingness and ability to call for assistance before ambulating. We recommend applying FallSaver upon admission and monitoring the patient’s attempts to get up unassisted for the first week. If staff determines that the patient is not at risk for falling, FallSaver can be discontinued. In many cases, you will have been able to prevent a fall from occurring while monitoring the patient. FallSaver is about helping you prevent that first fall. Plus you only need one device – FallSaver follows your patient from bed to wheelchair to toilet to down the hall.
