What Is FallSaver?
Adobe Flash Player not installed or older than 9.0.115!
FallSaver® is a patented patient safety device for those who should not get up without assistance, brought to you by a company that is passionate about reducing falls. Typical users include most hospital patients, many residents of nursing facilities, and those recuperating at home under the care of others. FallSaver is a wireless patient monitor that sounds an alarm when a patient tries to get up unassisted, allowing caregivers time to intervene before a possible fall occurs. It is a credit-card-sized patch attached to the patient's thigh and worn without removal for an average of ten days. The in-room alarm can be integrated with any nurse call system to provide additional caregiver alerts. It is a formidable tool in the fight against the "never-event" falls that Medicare will no longer reimburse for, and that forever after compromise the quality of life for those who fall -- and those who care for them.
FallSaver differs from other patient safety products you may have used in that:
It works. Very well. It's the only device ever shown in clinical trials to reduce falls and injuries up to 90%. It is not a fall detection device – our goal is to help you prevent that first critical fall.
No more wasted time chasing false alarms. When FallSaver alarms, the caregiver knows it's a real emergency.
Because it moves with the patient, only one device is needed for all patient environments – bed, chair, toilet, and bath.
FallSaver's advantages to the patient are that:
It significantly reduces the chance you will have an injurious fall and diminished quality of life.
It is unobtrusive – no wires, tethers, pads, or other obvious signs of assistive devices that compromise patient dignity.
It works particularly well if you are a dementia or hospital patient who cannot remember to call for assistance, or just don't want to ask for help.
FallSaver's advantages to the caregiver are that:
It is easy to use. Put it on and forget about it till it is time to replace the patch.
By monitoring efforts to get up unassisted, FallSaver helps you identify who won't call for assistance, who is wandering out of range, who needs more assistance because of incontinence or orthostatic hypotension, who is trying to get out of the bath or bathroom unassisted, and helps you develop an appropriate plan for their care. It can also be used as a fall assessment tool to identify who is at risk of falling while helping to prevent that first fall.
FallSaver's advantages to the care facility are that:
Fewer "never-event" falls means reduced injuries and costs, and shorter patient stays.
Staff morale is improved by having a reliable intervention device, reduced time filling out incident report forms, decreased chance of citations, and more time for enhanced patient care.
Reduced falls enhances your facility's reputation and Joint Commission accreditation efforts.
FallSaver works independently, or integrates easily into your existing network.
For the first time, we can show a cost-effective and reliable means of reducing falls, a growing public health problem of staggering proportions – and make a big difference. Patient care for millions is improved by spending less time dealing with the consequences of falls, leaving more time for care that enhances their lives and those who care for them. Reduced falls enhances your facility's reputation and Joint Commission accreditation efforts. Loved ones can live at home longer with family members without having to be institutionalized due to fear of falling.
